| "Green headed sunbirds, despite their name, have a more turquoise colored head rather than green. In this species both the male and female have impressive coloration. There are many species of sunbirds in Africa and Asia. They have some of the same similarities to American hummingbirds. Both species are nectar feeders that pollinate flowers. They are generally colorful with metallic and iridescent accents. Many of my sunbird reference has been gathered from fellow artist Peter Blackwell and his wife Lisa Ashe's beautiful garden in Kenya." - Kim Diment | ||||
