It is nice to note that Bald Eagles have made an incredible comeback in their population numbers. When I was young they were on the endangered species list. To see one would cause quite a stir! These days they are more common, but even so, I still get excited when I see an eagle, especially in the UP. The Upper Falls was quite often a destination for my family camping trip. The first time I saw the falls I was struck by the large roar the water made as it spilled over the rock face. I also liked the different colors of amber and brown at the top which cascaded down into a froth of white at the bottom. I have loved returning to the falls ever since. - Kim Diment |
